Bishop
S. Patricia Holder

District President

Bishop Silverstine Patricia Holder is the second of five children born to Christian parents, Elder Fitzgerald and Evangelist Iona Kirton.  Her Godly heritage formed the foundation that fostered her love for God and His Kingdom and resulted in her giving her life to the Lord during her pre-teen years.

As she grew in her walk with the Lord, she recognized a burning desire to see lives saved and transformed to serve the Lord and walk in Holiness.  Hers was a passion that drove her to study the Word of God and so she set out to deepen her knowledge in a manner that would enhance her work in the Kingdom; and thereby carry out the Great Commission.  She has a special love for young people and is a great source of encouragement to everyone.

Bishop Holder graduated from the UHCA Extension Bible College and attended Alpha & Omega School of Ministry.  She also completed the Wesleyan Certificate in Counseling.

Bishop Holder has served in various capacities in the church over the years.  She was a Sunday School teacher and Superintendent in her local church - Evangel Tabernacle - and served as District Sunday School Superintendent 1988 - 1991. During this time, she was called and appointed to the pastoral office of the Mt. Hermon Church and continues to serve in this position. Later in 1997, Bishop Holder was ordained an Elder; and went on to serve as Assistant Financial Secretary for the Barbados District from 2004 – 2008.

Bishop Holder has also served on various committees.  She functioned as a member of the Board of Elders and as Chairman of the Nominating Committee for the Barbados District.  She also served as a member of the General Nominating Committee in Greensboro, North Carolina.  Bishop Holder was elected to the post of second Assistant to the Bishop in 2008 and subsequently to Vice President in 2010- 2016.  She serves as Chairman of the Board of Management of the Barbados District Bible School and currently serves as President of the Barbados District 2016 to present.  Bishop Holder is also the liaison Bishop for the General Department of Evangelism currently.

Consecrated to the Episcopacy in May of 2010 Bishop Holder serves as a member of the Bishops’ Council.

Bishop Holder is married to Mr. Everick Holder for the past 51 years and together they have two daughters, Lisa Nicole and Daniele Simone.  She is also blessed with four grandchildren, Jacobi, Luc, Zoe and Noe and her son-in-law, Mr. Fred Farlin.

Bishop Holder is a preacher in her own right and has ministered the Word of God throughout the length and breadth of Barbados and further afield, bringing souls to the knowledge of their Saviour, Jesus Christ; witnessing lives transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit, equipping and empowering believers and building up the body of Christ.

She teaches that passion, integrity and excellence should be the hallmark of every believer.

Bishop Holder is grateful to Almighty God for all that she has achieved but above all, she is honored to be chosen to be a Servant of the Most High God. Her mantra is, “I’m blessed to be a blessing.”

Bishop Holder is a humble and dedicated servant of God who walks with first Corinthians 15:10a in her heart:

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain……”
